RNC Chair Mike Duncan, the Inez banker and "long-time supporter and fundraiser for Senator Mitch McConnell", sent out a fundraising email claiming that "Democrat leaders are hoping for our troops to fail so their party can gain a political advantage."

Yet Senator McConnell accuses Democrats of "poisonous partisanship."
